The Carnival Experience takes you behind the scenes of the greatest show on Earth, in the Samba City.

Get up close and personal with the creation of floats and costumes in the shed of the 2022 champion samba school, Academicos do Grande Rio.

The tour includes a brief immersion in the history of Samba and Carnival and includes the most awaited moment: wearing official costumes, sambar with a female passer and toasting with a caipirinha welcome.

It's included

Guided tour of the Academics of Greater Rio barracks — One of the main Samba Schools in the City of Rio de Janeiro (30 min).
Exhibition room: a bit about the history of samba and carnival parades (20 min).
Getting in the mood: arrangement of costumes to wear and photograph (20 min).
Samba flavor: caipirinha welcome (10 min).
Samba class with one of our Passists! (10 min).

🔒 Tour Rules

It is forbidden to interfere with Grande Rio, LIESA or any samba school.
Entry to other barracks in Cidade do Samba is prohibited.
Follow the guidelines of the guides and respect the work of the schools.
Don't touch costumes, cars, or materials without permission from the Carnaval Experience team.
Smoking is prohibited in the shed.
Photographing preparations without permission is prohibited; guides will indicate where it is allowed.
Wear closed footwear (avoid slippers).

People who are sensitive to strong smells should consult the team before purchasing (use of industrial chemicals).
Accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.
Children must be with an adult.
Children from 0 to 5 years old do not pay; babies must be in their arms.
The tour takes place rain or shine.
